Steven lives in Helian's Glade and can usually be found somewhere in the gardens. Letters can be left on his bed, which is made of moss and several supernaturally large blooms, or the drawer filled stump where he keeps his belongings. He is responsive to network communications but prefers not to speak one on one over them.

Still... [It kind of his fault, just not intentionally.]

You didn't feel it that time, right? [He looks back to Steven.] I'll--we can be more careful, so it doesn't happen again.

I don't think so.

[Unless there were seriously delayed effects... and he doesn't currently feel anything coming on.]

It's okay, it's just... it's kind of frustrating. We just started doing this stuff, and now... There's something getting in our way.

[Yuya's stomach twists a little, looking repentant. It's not consciously his fault, but if Steven's upset... he was enjoying other kisses, right?

But he doesn't enjoy what's happening.] Sorry. I'd make it stop if I knew how!

I want to keep trying. [And he means that.] I'm just... It makes me feel really good, and... I don't want that to be the reason I'm kissing you.

I doesn't feel right to just make everything go away like that.

[Isn't kissing supposed to feel good? Not like that he knows, not totally high.

But he supposes Steven's always had a harder time putting the present out of his mind, just for a moment, than Yuya.]

I don't want to stop either, but... [He waves his hand.] I just need to find a way to make it stop! We don't have to stop kissing entirely.

[They just have to be careful. Keep a respectful distance in it.]

[He tries to offer a reassuring smile.]

If little kisses don't make it happen... we can still do that.

[He laughs frailly.]

It just doesn't seem like I should be the only one getting like that. If it was going to happen, you should get to enjoy it, too.

I do enjoy it. I mean-- kissing you. I don't need anything else to make me like it... [He can take a guess what Steven's feeling, but he was enjoying himself anyway--a lot.] It's not just because I'm not high too?

[Because if that's Steven's hang up, and not the being high himself, Yuya knows how to fix that.]

[Well, that's one facet of it, but maybe not all. He sighs softly, rolling into his back.]

Not just that, I guess. But maybe that makes it worse.

...Feeling good is so easy, when you drink, or... have magic kisses... I don't know. If I start to do that, why wouldn't I just want to do it all the time?

Uuuh... we'd never get out if we were drunk all the time?

[Because they couldn't plan straight. That's the only answer Yuya has, though, he doesn't know what other reasons Steven shouldn't that aren't 'just seems like a bad idea'.]

We might never get out anyway.

[He kind of regrets saying it immediately after speaking, but it's true.]

I feel so bad so much, I just... don't want to feel like it'd be nicer to do that than to just be myself. And that's what feeling high, or whatever it is, makes me feel like.

[Yuya finches, but if Steven doesn't dwell on that first point he won't either.

He opens his mouth, but the first few attempts to speak result in nothing.

He shifts, pushing himself up on his hands.] I don't want to make you feel that way. It's okay if--as long as this is happening we don't have to do it anymore.

[He can't assure Steven getting high on magic every time they kiss is worth it.]

[He's glad to have said it out loud. He knows that Yuya has never really shared his worries, but it's nice to think that he might understand.]

Okay. I still want to be close to you. We just have to be a little more careful.

[Especially because, in that moment, part of Steven wants to ask if Yuya can help him to feel like that again.]

[Yuya nods fervently.] We'll be careful. We don't have to kiss like that at all. It doesn't make us less close than we already were, right?

[Maybe he was the only one who was really enjoying it, anyway.]

[Steven doesn't really know what "like that" means in this context, so he assumes it's referring to the deep kissing that seems to be the problem.]

I can still do this, I hope.

[He leans over to peck Yuya carefully on the lips.]

[Yuya stares, cross-eyed, then lets out a surprised giggle.] Yeah, that didn't make you feel weird, right? Maybe it's because it's like your healing...

[Is it his spit? Is that the problem? He can't exactly ask to test it now. Not... with Steven, but... maybe someone else. Maybe to be sure.]

Oh yeah... that would make sense, wouldn't it?

[He laughs, a bit more freely.]

Maybe your spit makes people feel buzzed now.

Maybe that's it. This isn't as convenient as healing. I don't know what I'd even use it for if that's true!

[Probably, no one who even likes drinking wants a drug made of Yuya's spit.]

Maybe not, but... it did feel pretty nice.

[As much as Steven can't afford to partake in it frequently, it was undeniable a pleasant kind of poison.]

Kind of like being with you.

[Yuya's cheeks redden and he glances sideways. His hand is still covering his mouth, but that does little to how his expression.] W-well I... it feels nice with you too. More than that, even.

[Steven is just going to smile and resume cuddling at this point. Even without any kissing at all, being with Yuya is pretty great.]
